About the Consortium
Who we are and why we exist
The Consortium of Hindu Americans was founded on a simple conviction: that
Hindu organizations across America are stronger together than they are apart.
How the Consortium came to be
The Hindu American community in the United States is vibrant, accomplished, and growing yet for decades, its organizations have operated largely in parallel, each doing meaningful work within their own sphere, without a shared platform to coordinate, amplify, and advocate collectively.
The Consortium of Hindu Americans was incorporated in Virginia in February 2025 to fill that gap. Not as another organization competing for attention, but as an enabler and convener an umbrella that preserves each member organization’s independence while giving the community a unified voice when it matters most.
Rooted in the Washington DC metro area, one of the most politically and civically significant regions in America, the Consortium is positioned to connect the Hindu American community’s values and concerns to the institutions and policymakers who shape national life.
We begin with three pillars civic engagement, interfaith dialogue, and youth development and we intend to grow as the community grows.

Vision for the future
The Consortium is in its founding chapter. Here is how we see the journey ahead.
Build credibility through events, interfaith programs, and youth initiatives. Demonstrate what coordinated action looks like before formalizing membership. Let the work speak first.
“Hindu Americans are not a monolith we are a mosaic. The Consortium’s purpose is to hold that mosaic together, so our diversity becomes our greatest strength in civic and public life.”
